I can’t remember the last time I paid the full price for anything I’ve bought online. I am the officially The World’s Savviest Shopper™ when it comes to online purchases and the time has come for me to share my secrets!
I recently tried on a pair of shoes in Topshop that I just HAD TO HAVE. Unfortunately for my wallet, they were €120.
We all know that Topshop are one of the worst offenders when it comes to Euro conversion prices, so it came as no surprise to me to find out that the Sterling price was £69 (which is about €83).
Want to find out how I paid the Sterling price AND got a further discount? Then read on!
Luckily for lil’ ol’ me, Topshop allows Irish customers to buy via their website. A website that also accepts discount codes. Yup, so on top of getting the Sterling price I also managed to knock another 10% off which pretty much eliminated the shipping charge.
The moral of my story is to find items you like in the stores where possible and buy them online. Scour Google for discount codes. Topshop have a 10% student discount so a quick google should find you a valid NUS numbet to use. ASOS also regularly have discount codes ranging anywhere from 10-20% off. Sign up for their newsletter and regularly check the discount discussion on their Facebook page and you’ll be sure to come across SOME sort of discount! Also, when it comes to ASOS, always pay the Sterling price…it usually works out a few Euro cheaper!
So in future, don’t flush your hard-earned money down the toilet when just a little bit of Googling will save you a minimum of 10%!
